You’re Invited: Let’s CUshine
March 29th, 2022 by admin
Thursday, April 14, 2022 — 5:30pm to 7:30pm
Albuquerque Social Club (4021 Central Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108)
Sponsored by CUNA Mutual Group
The Credit Union Association of New Mexico created “CUshine” in March 2022. This is the latest in a series of affinity groups created to help Credit Union employees engage, network, and learn from each other. This affinity group is working to create growth and development opportunities within NM’s credit union movement.
CUshine is a first for New Mexico’s Credit Unions but was modeled on other successful LGBTQ+/allies groups in our industry and our state. For inspiration, CUANM looked to PSCUnity, CUNA Mutual Group’s Prism, CUPride, Bank of America’s Pride Program, and Los Alamos National Labs’ Prism. Some of these programs have track records going back several decades, with positive and substantive results for their organizations. We believe that those who engage with CUShine will see that New Mexico’s credit unions are dedicated to employee engagement, cooperation, and quality education – and we can have a little fun while we do it too!
CUANM’s inaugural event, Let’s CUshine, features special guest Madam Nymphadora and will raise funds for homeless youth. Madam will inspire and entertain as she performs fan-favorites Defying Gravity, RESPECT, and more while telling their story about why empathy matters in credit unions. Guests will be treated to two beverages of their choice and snacks. Guests must be 21+ years of age to participate, and it is free to credit union employees who RSVP via our registration link.
Let’s CUshine’s panel discussion will be led by well-respected CU leaders:
- Monica Belz, President & CEO, Hawaii’s Kauai Federal Credit Union
- Zachary Christensen, Director at Mitchell Stankovic & Associates, #STANDUP Advocate for Credit Unions & Members at the Underground, and Co-founder of CU Pride
- Daniel Marquez, Software Implementations Analyst at Corelation Inc. (aka Madam Nymphadora, Entertainer & Development Educator) and Co-founder of CU Pride
- And more!
