Local Organizations Collect Turkeys for Families in Need
Dozens of families received Thanksgiving turkeys thanks to Sandia Labs, Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union, Roadrunner Food Bank, and other local pantries. “Take a frozen turkey to work day is a fantastic illustration of how credit unions really work. It’s about people helping people,” said Melissa Stock of Sandia Laboratory Credit Union. Click here for the full article.

NM CU’s Welcomed ACCOSCA Partners  November 1-5, 2021
In early November, CUANM proudly welcomed 25 credit union executives and leaders from Kenya through the ACCOSCA partnership program. CUANM’s President & CEO, Juan E. Fernández Ceballos, shared, “We are honored to have had the opportunity to strengthen our cross Atlantic relationship and work with our ACCOSCA partners. Several NM credit unions hosted the group and were able to learn and share best practices while collaborating on how to augment community and economic impact.” Nice job, everyone!


Onward & Upward Conference  November 16-17, 2021
CU professionals from across the state participated in our Onward & Upward Networking Leadership Conference. Speakers included: Victor Corro of Coopera Consulting; Kirk Kordeleski of OM Financial Group; Renee Sattiewhite, CEO / President of African-American Credit Union Coalition; and Shari Storm, a professional speaker and author.


Global Women’s Leadership Breakfast — November 17, 2021
Hosted by the NM Sister Society, the networking breakfast featured Pamelya Herndon from the New Mexico House of Representatives (District 28). Ms. Herndon is a passionate champion for the underserved who shared her journey working to encourage social justice and change. 


Bankruptcy & Collections Training  November 18, 2021
Frank Drake, a partner with Smith Debnam Narron Drake Saintsing & Myers LLP, led a fast-paced information-filled day. Several participants commented that it felt great to receive instruction on the delicate balance of win-win negotiation.

Ronald McDonald House Donation
Credit Unions are known for their mantra of “People Helping People.” It’s a motto we share with our members and within our communities.

To kick off the start of the holiday season, Melissa Besante Dineen, CUANM’s Director of Cooperative Development & Momentum, delivered a dozen care packages to Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico. 

This donation was made on behalf of credit unions across the state. To our member credit unions, thank you for making this possible.

Credit Union Demand for Analytics Strategy Skyrockets in 2021
In 2021, AdvantEdge Digital grew its analytics consulting client portfolio 55 percent year-over-year and currently services 43 credit union engagements.

AdvantEdge Digital’s management says the increased interest is due to credit unions’ need to make better use of data for real-time decision-making. According to AdvantEdge Digital President Micheal Herman, alternative providers are pushing credit unions to find ways to respond to changes more quickly. Click here for the full article.
