The Credit Union Foundation of New Mexico is dedicated to strengthening the credit union movement by supporting the communities we serve. Through our grant programs, we provide financial assistance to credit unions and their initiatives, empowering them to create meaningful change where it matters most.
CDFI Certification Technical Assistance Grant
The Credit Union Foundation of New Mexico (Foundation) is committed to strengthening credit unions in New Mexico through collaborative opportunities. One way the Foundation meets this purpose is through Credit Union Community Support and deploying Technical Assistance Grants (TA Grant) to support credit unions applying for CDFI Certification. The U.S. Treasury’s CDFI Fund seeks to invest federal dollars alongside mission-driven financial institutions that take a market-based approach to support economically distressed and disadvantaged communities, but only Certified CDFIs qualify to apply for these grant awards. This TA Grant application may be used to cover “project costs” of applying for CDFI Certification.
Disaster Relief Grant
The Credit Union Foundation of New Mexico (Foundation) is committed to supporting credit union professionals when disaster strikes. This application is designed to provide financial support for our New Mexico credit union community – credit union staff or volunteers - affected by unforeseen disasters. Eligible incidents include but are not necessarily limited to tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, wildfires, or acts of terrorism. Grants of up to $6,500 may be available to aid with immediate relief after a disaster. Application must be made within 90 days of occurrence of disaster.
