Community Partners
Credit Unions are known for their mantra of “People Helping People.” It’s a motto we share with our members and within our communities. CUANM’s community partner projects are ongoing, and we’re excited to highlight several of the groups we’ve worked with in 2021 and 2022.
Casa Q
During our April 2022 “Let’s CUshine!” event CUANM partnered with CasaQ, a local non-profit that supports queer youth experiencing homelessness.
Horizons Albuquerque
In June 2022, CUANM partnered with CUNA Mutual Group, CU Consulting & Translations, LLC, and Sandia Area Federal Credit Union to host three student teams at the NM Credit Union Education Foundation’s CU Topgolf Challenge. The non-profit provides academic, athletic, and enrichment activities to children from under-served families.
New Mexico’s Gynecological Cancer Awareness Project
During CUANM’s February 2022 chapter dinner, attendees participated in a 50/50 raffle with proceeds benefitting New Mexico’s Gynecological Cancer Awareness Project. The non-profit brings joy, comfort, education, and financial assistance to people affected by gynecological cancers.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico
During CUANM’s November 2021 Onward & Upward Leadership Conference, attendees put together care packages for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico. The 30 bedroom facility provides a “home-away-from-home” for families whose children are in medical treatment.
